I am a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with a special interest in Urogynaecology, vaginal surgery & pelvic floor reconstruction, female urinary incontinence and benign gynaecological conditions. I am primarily based at St John’s Hospital in Livingston but also undertake some sessions at The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The Urogynaecology unit for NHS Lothian is based at Livingston and we provide services to women with pelvic floor dysfunction from Edinburgh and the Lothians.
I perform Urodynamic investigation as part of a comprehensive bladder assessment. Many women with pelvic floor disorders have complex symptoms and report significant restriction and deterioration to their quality of life. I hope to find and offer unique solutions that suit individual patient needs. I have a keen interest in surgery for vaginal prolapse and urinary incontinence. I perform tension free vaginal tape procedures for stress incontinence and injection of botox for treatment of overactive bladder.
I have a keen interest in treatment for benign conditions like menstrual disorders, endometriosis, menopausal health etc. I perform abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, thermal balloon and radio frequency ablation for heavy menstrual bleeding, and intermediate laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures. I am lead clinician for the early pregnancy unit at Livingston.
