I have presented in both national and international conferences and ardently promotes high quality pain education to other health care professionals. I am the Local Pain Medicine Education Supervisor (LPMES) for the trainees in South East Scotland rotation.
I firmly believe in the role of early intervention and of multidisciplinary team in management of various chronic pain disorders. I aim to offer a comprehensive diagnostic and investigative service (if required) to all the patients. I value the importance of pragmatic management of persistent pain and spend time with patients to allay their fears and concerns about their problems, so as to come to a shared decision regarding long term prognosis and successful improvement in quality of life.
I graduated from India in 1999. Following that I did my Anaesthetics training from New Delhi and further continued it at South East Scotland deanery. I attained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2008. As part of the rotation I did my Advanced Pain Training from Edinburgh under well renowned trainers.
In addition, I did a M.Sc. in Pain Medicine from University of Edinburgh. I hold a European Diploma in Regional Anaesthesia and is proficient in the use of ultrasound for various musculoskeletal injections as well as for doing regional blocks for various surgeries. I was the first Scottish fellow for the Faculty of Pain Medicine of Royal College of Anaesthetists, London by examination in 2012.
