Clinics at Spire Shawfair Park Hospital:
Mondays 1.30pm - 7.30pm and alternate Saturdays 8am - 1pm

I am an experienced and compassionate GP who has worked as a Spire GP since the service began at Shawfair Park Hospital. 

I achieved my first undergraduate honours degree in Human Biology at The University of St Andrews in 2006 then went onto obtain my Medical Science degree in St Andrews in 2009. Following this I completed undergraduate clinical training at The University of Edinburgh where I graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) in 2012. I gained Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 2017.

I undertook my postgraduate medical training in South East Scotland within NHS Lothian. During this I worked in specialties including; general medicine, general surgery, orthopaedics, medicine of the elderly, obstetrics and gynaecology, accident and emergency and paediatric surgery. Following completion of my GP training I was a full time GP partner in a practice in NHS Lothian for over five years before moving on from this to pursue a portfolio career as a GP. I have worked shifts as a GP within the out of hours service in NHS Lothian. Alongside working as a GP I am a hospice doctor one day per week. I am passionate about medical education and I am the Pro Dean of Medicine and a Clinical Senior Lecturer at The University of St Andrews. I am also an examiner with the General Medical Council (GMC).

I am the GP representative for Spire Edinburgh Hospitals Medical Advisory Committee (MAC). I was previously a member of NHS Lothian GP sub-committee and Local Medical Committee and a GP representative for the Interface Group.

I am interested in all aspects of general practice and provide high quality clinical care with a holistic person centred approach.
