Dr Caroline Scally

Consultant Cardiologist

BSc (Hons) MBChB, FRCP(Ed)

I undertook specialist Cardiology training in Aberdeen, completing training in 2019. I then completed a clinical training fellowship in advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation and complex cardiac devices before taking up a consultant post in NHS Lothian in 2020.

My specialist area is diagnosing and treating heart failure, including medical management, implantable devices such as pacemakers, cardiac resynchronisation therapy and implantable defibrillators including subcutaneous devices.

I undertook research into Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, a condition predominantly affecting women. This has lead to my interest in cardiovascular disease in women.
