Specialises in

After graduating in 2005 from the University of Liverpool, I was trained in orthopaedics on the South Yorkshire Rotation of the Yorkshire Deanery. After rotating through all the core areas, I focused on conditions involving the hip and knee.

On completion of specialist orthopaedic training in February 2018, I undertook a year’s Fellowship in Nottingham with internationally renowned surgeons: Mr AJ Manktelow, Mr PJ James and Mr BV Bloch focusing on high volume elective primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty in both the simple and complex patient.

In February 2019, I was appointed as a Locum Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Nottingham University Hospital. Here I successfully performed high volume hip and knee arthroplasty. I was appointed as a Substantive Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Chesterfield Royal Hospital in September 2020.

I have an interest in primary hip and knee replacements, revision for infection and aseptic loosening, periprosthetic fractures and fractures around the hip. I enjoy teaching and training and am a Clinical and Educational Supervisor to medical students and doctors in training. I have also been the Educational Supervisor to the Orthopaedic Theatre Surgical Assistants.

I am a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Hip Society and have presented posters and oral presentations focusing on orthopaedics in general and lower limb arthroplasty. I was awarded the British Hip Society / Stryker Travelling Fellowship in Robotics and Computer Assisted Surgery with placements across the UK, Europe and USA.

In 2019 I was invited to join Depuy/Synthes Future Hip Surgeons Programme; where a small group of consultants were selected to be mentored by some of the premier hip surgeons in Europe.
