Specialises in

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Northern General and Royal Hallamshire Hospitals, with a practice at Spire Claremont Hospital.

I qualified from Sheffield Medical School in 1997 and was a higher surgical trainee in Sheffield and the surrounding area. Prior to my Consultant post, I trained as a Fellow with the highly respected Mr Andrew Manktelow and Mr Peter James in hip and knee replacement surgery at Nottingham University NHS Trust.

In 2012, I gained a PhD in the outcomes of hip replacement surgery focusing on areas which can limit the lifespan of hip replacement implants. Work from my PhD has been awarded both National and International prizes including the William Harris Hip Award in the USA.

I am currently Vice Chair of the Dr Foster Global Comparators Group; an organisation which promotes best practice in hip and knee surgery worldwide and is also the Organisational Development Clinical Lead at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

I am currently a Consultant and the Clinical Lead in the lower limb arthroplasty unit at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, a centre for both simple and complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery.
