I am a Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Oncologist at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, specialising in robotic‑assisted and advanced laparoscopic (minimal access) surgery for both cancerous and benign gynaecological conditions. I treat the full range of gynaecological cancers, with particular expertise in minimally invasive surgery for uterine, cervical and selected early‑stage ovarian cancers.

Alongside cancer care, I manage most benign gynaecological conditions, including heavy menstrual bleeding, menopausal symptoms, pelvic pain, PMS, irregular periods, ovarian cysts, post‑coital bleeding, vulval lumps, fibroid uterus and cervical smear abnormalities. (Infertility and urogynaecology are managed by sub‑specialist colleagues.)

I have performed over 2,000 colposcopies, over 1,000 hysteroscopies, over 1,000 benign and diagnostic laparoscopic procedures, over 1,000 laparotomies and over 500 radical ovarian cancer debulking procedures.

I began my surgical career in Sri Lanka in 2000 after completing my internship in 1999. After moving to the UK I completed the structured postgraduate training programme in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and gained the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT – 2010) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. I then completed a sub-specialty fellowship at Oxford University Hospital that was accredited by the Royal College of Gynaecologists for Sub-Specialty in Gynaecology Oncology.

I am a member of the British Gynaecological Cancer Society (BGCS), the BMA, and I am a BSCCP‑accredited colposcopist and trainer. I completed an MSc(Res) in image‑guided surgery and surgical planning at Oxford University while working as an Honorary Consultant—supporting my ongoing commitment to precision‑based, technology‑enhanced surgical care.

At Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, I offer advanced robotic‑assisted gynaecological surgery, combining clinical expertise with the latest minimally invasive techniques to deliver safe, effective care for patients across Cambridgeshire.
