Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Malcolm Cameron at Spire include:
I have been a consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery since 2006 when I was appointed at Cambridge University NHS Trust, Addenbrooke’s. I have special interests in Head & Neck Oncology and facial trauma, both adult and Paediatric. I am qualified in both medicine and dentistry and have three Higher Fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. I was an undergraduate at Guys Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals and undertook my Basic Surgical Training at The Royal Surrey County Hospital before completing Higher Surgical Training at University College in London and Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead. I also undertook training at The Royal Marsden and Great Ormand Street Hospitals.
I have special interests in oral oncology and facial injuries. At the Cambridge Spire Lea Hospital, the majority of my work is with intra-oral and facial pathology and this ranges from the management of wisdom tooth / teeth problems through to complex orofacial swellings. I have a special interest in head and neck cancer and its management including long term surveillance. I also perform dental extractions under general anaesthetic for patients uncomfortable with treatment under local anaesthetic.
My referrals come from both medical and dental practitioners as well as other health care professionals. These include all aspects of Oral Surgery ranging from wisdom tooth removal, buried roots and teeth, complex orthodontic extractions and exposures and “lumps and bumps” in and around the mouth. I also undertake straightforward tooth extractions under general anaesthetic for people uncomfortable with treatment whilst awake (following assessment of general health and previous GA experience).
Within facial surgery (maxillofacial surgery), I look after all aspects of oral oncology including reconstruction and long term follow up. I also have interests in facial trauma (injuries), salivary gland disease, oral medicine and paediatric oral & maxillofacial surgery.

I played rugby at Guy's and Bart's then for teams local to home during my training years. To prevent anymore "wear and tear" I stopped playing in my mid-thirties but still enjoy following the sport whenever I can.
I now run, mostly cross country but rarely more than 10k. I usually do this with my springer spaniel and do my best to keep up!
The rest of my time is taken up with gardening and bee keeping.Back to top
