I am a Consultant Neurosurgeon specialising in spinal surgery and minimally invasive (keyhole) techniques, with a particular focus on complex spinal conditions. I practise privately at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, Spire King’s Lynn Clinic and within the NHS at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.

I routinely use minimally invasive (keyhole) techniques for a wide variety of spinal conditions and I have recently introduced endoscopic spinal surgery at Addenbrooke's, as an extension of this.

My work focuses on delivering highly specialised care for patients with back pain, sciatica, spinal stenosis, slipped discs and cervical spine conditions, as well as more complex disorders including spinal tumours, trauma and infections.

My specialist interests include the treatment of degenerative spinal conditions affecting the neck and lower back, alongside complex cases such as spinal tumours, fractures and spinal infections. I also have expertise in managing conditions such as Chiari malformation, syringomyelia and spontaneous intracranial hypotension, working closely with neurology and radiology colleagues to ensure a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach.

I completed my neurosurgical training in 2012, and managed the full range of brain and spine conditions before focusing my practice on complex spinal conditions in 2019, building on fellowships at Oxford and Cambridge.

Alongside my clinical practice, I am actively involved in medical education and training. I lead neurosurgical teaching for Cambridge University's undergraduate medical course at Addenbrooke's and am actively involved in postgraduate teaching and assessment at a national level.

I have also been featured in national media, including the BBC Two documentary series Surgeons: At the Edge of Life, which showcased complex spinal surgery at Cambridge University Hospitals.
