I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital and Cambridge University Hospitals (Addenbrooke’s), specialising exclusively in knee surgery. I provide expert assessment and treatment for patients across Cambridge and the East of England, managing the full spectrum of knee conditions from sports injuries and complex ligament reconstruction to joint preservation and knee replacement.

My practice is centred on knee preservation, with a particular focus on advanced cartilage repair and regeneration. I offer arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) and cutting-edge techniques designed to restore joint function, delay or avoid joint replacement and optimise long-term outcomes. I regularly perform meniscal repair and resection, helping to preserve knee function and stability. Alongside this, I have extensive expertise in complex ligament surgery including ACL and PCL reconstruction and multi-ligament knee injuries. I am one of a small number of surgeons in the region performing these specialised procedures.

I have a strong interest in personalised knee replacement, including both total and partial knee replacement, tailoring implant position and alignment to the individual patient. I offer advanced surgical technologies, including robotic-arm assisted knee replacement, to enhance precision and outcomes. Where appropriate, I also undertake realignment surgery to redistribute load within the knee and support joint preservation.

I completed my higher surgical training on the Cambridge, followed by fellowships at leading UK centres, including the Fortius Clinic in London, Oxford University Hospitals and Leeds Teaching Hospitals, gaining extensive experience in treating elite athletes, complex knee injuries, cartilage restoration and revision knee surgery. My time at Fortius (one of the few FIFA-accredited centres in the UK) provided direct experience in managing high-level sportsmen and women across a range of disciplines.

I was awarded the prestigious British Orthopaedic Association Travelling Fellowship, visiting internationally renowned centres such as the Rothman Institute.

In my NHS role, I manage complex trauma and severe knee injuries and contribute to research and enhanced recovery programmes, focusing on improved outcomes and faster return to function.

Alongside my clinical work, I am a dedicated educator and mentor. I have a strong interest in training the next generation of surgeons, particularly in complex knee surgery and advanced cartilage techniques. I regularly teach on national and international courses and hold a formal teaching qualification from the University of Cambridge.

Despite my specialist surgical expertise, I take a holistic and patient-centred approach. I place strong emphasis on non-operative management where appropriate, offering treatments such as targeted physiotherapy, injections and bracing, ensuring that every patient receives an individualised treatment plan tailored to their needs and goals.
