The foundation to feeling fabulous – a look good and feel better campaign.

24 February 2016

Last Thursday evening we held a ‘look good feel better workshop’ aimed at ladies undergoing radiotherapy or chemotherapy.

At our Spire Specialist Care Centre (SSCC), a unit dedicated to the care and treatment of those suffering from cancer related illnesses, we hosted the Look Good Feel Better charity for the evening. Formed in the UK 21 years ago, the charity is designed to specifically help women combat the visible side-effects of their cancer treatment.  Their aim is to greatly increase women’s confidence and self-esteem at what is a very difficult time in their lives.

Our breast nurse Jackie Skinner along with other clinical staff from the SSCC attended the event at the Aztec West Centre to help patients with any advice and information. The event was put on completely free of charge by the charity and all the ladies were looking even more fabulous afterwards, each going away with goodie bags and a smile on their faces.

As a thank you to the charity for all their help in providing the ladies with such an enjoyable evening the Spire Specialist Care Centre will be making a monetary donation to such a great cause.  A big thank you must go to Kim Wood a Radiographer at the Specialist Care Centre for organising the event.
