Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Sunil Jain at Spire include:
Sports injuries Knee cartilage regeneration
After having completed basic and postgraduate orthopaedic training in India, I joined the North West Orthopaedic training programme in the UK in 1993, followed by several specialist fellowships in the centres of excellence, leading to consultant appointment in 2002. I have been a consultant orthopaedic surgeon for 14 years, senior-most in the team, with special expertise in the injuries and conditions affecting the knee and hip joints. In addition to being highly experienced in the field, I offer a patient centred approach based on the contemporary evidence.
I specialise in all conditions affecting the knee joint including ligament injuries and instabilities, all painful conditions like arthritis, cartilage and meniscus repair techniques, osteotomy and realignment operations and all types of replacements. I also specialise in hip replacements. I have a special interest in high precision surgery eg computer guidance, less invasive surgery, early recovery and restoration of normal function.
I have carried out high numbers of knee replacements, arthroscopies and ligament reconstructions as well as hip replacements through my career in orthopaedics.
To complement my clinical work, I have been the clinical lead for Enhanced Recovery programme in orthopaedics for the South East of England since 2009, and the Regional Clinical Coordinator for the National Joint Registry of England and Wales for the South East of England in 2015. I am also the honorary tutor at the University of Edinburgh, Surgical directorate audit lead at Medway hospital and Clinical Champion for the British Orthopaedic Association.
