I trained as a specialist in nuclear medicine in University Hospital in Granada, Spain and a year rotation in the USA University Hospital. I have a doctorate in neuroendocrine tumours from the University in Malaga, Spain, a masters degree and fellowship in nuclear medicine from the European Society of Nuclear Medicine and a diplomate certified in nuclear cardiology from the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
I moved to the UK in 2003 as a Consultant Physician in Nuclear Medicine at Medway Hospital with a special interest in thyroid disease, dysthyroid eye disease, thyroid carcinoma, thyroid US, FNA and radioiodine therapy. I have an interest in parathyroid disease and metabolic boned disease, particularly osteoporosis.
I am clinical lead in PET CT and the patient safety lead in the imaging directorate.
