I am experienced in all aspects of cardiology and am an expert in coronary intervention, including coronary angioplasty and stent insertion. I have been an NHS Consultant Cardiologist at Worthing Hospital and an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals since 2010.

I have performed over 3,000 coronary angioplasty procedures, almost 90% via the radial (wrist) artery, exceeding the national average of approximately 75%. I have been performing angioplasty since 2005, with specialist experience gained during two years at the Heart Hospital (UCL), one year at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, two years at The London Chest Hospital, and subsequently at Worthing and the Royal Sussex County Hospitals. I maintain an excellent safety profile and submit detailed procedural outcomes to the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society (BCIS), with independent tracking via the Office for National Statistics.

I manage patients with valvular heart disease, running a bi‑weekly NHS valve clinic, and established a multidisciplinary endocarditis team to manage severe cardiac valve infections. I perform transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography and work closely with cardiac radiology colleagues to deliver complex cardiac imaging using CT and MRI. I also have a specific interest in the management of complex stroke patients with underlying cardiovascular disease.

I am an expert in cardiac catheterisation and coronary angioplasty via both radial and femoral approaches, including primary angioplasty for emergency heart attack treatment. My expertise extends to complex coronary intervention, including diabetic heart disease, chronic total occlusions, bifurcation disease, bypass graft failure, left main stem disease, and patients not suitable for cardiac surgery, using pressure wire assessment, intravascular ultrasound, and rotational atherectomy. I also implant and manage pacemakers, implantable defibrillators (ICDs), and loop recorders.

Born and raised in Berkshire, I qualified from Southampton University Medical School with First Class Honours and Distinction in Medical Sciences, and hold a First Class Honours BSc in Biomedical Sciences. My senior cardiology training was completed on the London rotation, where I was an interventional fellow for five years at three internationally recognised centres of excellence: The Heart Hospital (UCLH), St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and The London Chest Hospital. During this time, I played a key role in establishing a Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) programme.

I completed periods of academic research at both undergraduate (BSc) and postgraduate level, obtaining a PhD from University College London. I have authored 26 original peer‑reviewed research publications, including papers in The Lancet and the European Heart Journal, and 17 published abstracts. I have presented research at national meetings, including the British Cardiac Society and the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society, as well as internationally at London Valve Live, the American Heart Association, Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics, and the European Space Agency.

Special clinical interests include adult general cardiology, coronary intervention, valvular heart disease, diabetic heart disease, stroke and heart disease, and chronic total occlusions with rotational atherectomy.

Other treatments include coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty and stent insertion, investigation and treatment of all cardiac complaints, and pacemaker and defibrillator implantation.
