Consultant bariatric surgeon Mr Kesava Mannur joins the Spire Wellesley Hospital

Mr Kesava Reddy Mannur, consultant bariatric surgeon, has joined the Spire Wellesley Hospital in Southend on Sea to undertake weight loss surgery.

The experienced surgeon - who has featured on Channel 4's 'Embarrassing Bodies' series and Channel 5's 'Saving Britain's 70 stone man' - has performed over 1,000 weight-loss procedures, including:

  • gastric banding
  • gastric bypass and
  • sleeve gastrectomy.

Mr Mannur trained in general surgery at Cardiff, Lister Hospital, Middlesex Hospital and The Royal London Hospitals. He then trained in obesity surgery in Europe and the US. He is currently a consultant surgeon and Director of Bariatric Surgery at Homerton University Hospital and The Royal London Hospital- where he performs more than ten weight loss procedures a week.
