The awards were presented together at the hospital, with a visit from Spire Healthcare’s National Director of Clinical Services, Bernadette Bishop.
Both award winners were nominated by Sandra Harrington-Brain, Director of Clinical Services at Spire Wellesley Hospital, who said; “I nominated Natalie Acton and Natalie Govus for these awards as they dedicated their own time to undertaking British Sign Language courses, having recognised our patients with hearing loss may feel isolated when visiting Spire Wellesley Hospital. We are so proud of their commitment and dedication to improving the patient experience and we are thrilled that they were winners of an IRIS and a DAISY award.”
Natalie Acton, Governance Coordinator and Iris Award recipient, said; “I’m honoured to receive an Iris award for my commitment to learning BSL to better support our patients. Continuous learning is essential in delivering the best possible care and I’m proud to use these skills to make a real difference. I’m so proud, grateful and excited to be part of a company that values inclusive care.”
