"I really enjoy working at Spire Wellesley Hospital."
I have been a Consultant Psychiatrist since 2007 and my field of expertise is General Adult Psychiatry. I worked in the NHS for 10 years until 2017 and since then I have worked solely in the private sector.
I carry out both psychiatric outpatient and inpatient work. I maintain an active interest in women's mental health including perinatal psychiatry, but have gained experience and knowledge in many avenues of psychiatry.
I currently undertake approximately 10-12 hours a week of private outpatient practice, seeing approximately 180 new patients and 500 follow up appointments each year. In my clinic, I assess and treat adults with a variety of mental health issues using different approaches including medications and talking therapies where needed. I have strong links to highly qualified therapists so I can organise different therapies that might be required to help a person’s recovery.
I am the Vice Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) at the Priory Hospital in Chelmsford.
Since June 2017 I have been the lead Consultant Psychiatrist on an acute adult ward at Priory Hospital Chelmsford. I enjoy being an integral part of the team, and enjoy the responsibilities and challenges which come with a leadership position. Since 2015, I have been an appraiser.
I continue to develop my knowledge and experience through ongoing education including attendance at conferences, seminars and self-directed learning. This ensures that I practice evidence based medicine and provide the best standard of care that I can.
