I am a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 18 years’ experience in mental health and 14 years of NHS experience. I am an expert in the assessment and treatment of mentally ill patients in Specialist/Secondary Mental Health services presenting with a wide range of mental illnesses; including schizophrenia, other psychotic disorders, mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, panic disorders, phobias, generalised anxiety disorders, other anxiety disorders, alcohol and illicit drug use, adjustment disorder, PTSD, bereavement and grief, anorexia nervosa, bulimia, other eating disorders, personality disorders, impulse control disorders, gender identity disorder, autism, Asperger’s Disorder and ADHD.
I have various senior leadership roles in medical education that keep me up to date with new developments within the field of mental health.
I work as a Consultant Psychiatrist in a Community Mental Health Team involved in the care of approximately 300 patients each month. (Direct clinical care and supervising medical or non-medical clinicians).
I Chair the Out of Hours Supervisory Group and am also the Chair of the Consultants Trainee Forums and Supervisor for Chief Resident Programmes and Quality Improvement Projects.
I have been awarded: Trainer of the Year Award 2014 by the Royal College of Psychiatry; Best Poster Award, Eastern Division Autumn Conference 2013; Royal College of Psychiatry and Supervisor for Trainee Leader of the Year Award, Health Education East of England 2016.
