Mr Jeff Auyeung

My clinical practice is focused almost entirely on hand and wrist surgery, where I manage a wide range of conditions affecting this complex and important part of the body. I treat everything from soft tissue problems, such as tendon and ligament injuries, to bony and joint conditions. The only area I do not cover is cancer. I also see patients with certain types of elbow problems where appropriate.

I graduated from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1998. I completed my basic surgical training in South Wales before moving to the North East to undertake higher surgical training in trauma and orthopaedics. During my final year of training, I was selected for an advanced training post in hand surgery in Manchester, one of only nine nationally available positions at the time. This gave me valuable, in-depth experience in this specialist field.

While in Manchester, I worked closely with both plastic and orthopaedic hand surgeons, gaining broad exposure to different approaches and techniques in hand and wrist surgery. In 2010, I was awarded a postgraduate diploma in hand surgery, reflecting my dedicated interest and further expertise in this area. I also take part in a specialist hand surgery on-call rota alongside my plastic surgery colleagues, managing urgent and complex cases.

I specialise in the treatment of hand and wrist arthritis, as well as sports-related injuries affecting the hand and wrist. My work covers all aspects of soft tissue and bony conditions, and I aim to offer clear, straightforward advice so that patients can fully understand their condition and the treatment options available to them.
