Saturday 24 June 2017 GP Seminar
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Simon Bridle at Spire include:
I specialize in particular in revision surgery for failed and infected hip and knee replacements.
I have been a consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at St George's hospital for 21 years. I now undertake purely elective surgery and am an expert in hip and knee surgery.
I specialize in primary hip and knee replacements and in particular revision of failed and infected hip and knee replacements. I work closely with my colleague Mr Philip Mitchell, both in the NHS and privately, dealing with complex cases. We have set up a Multidisciplinary Team at St George's to treat infected cases. We often operate together on the most complex cases. I also do arthroscopic knee surgery, but not ligament reconstruction. My results following primary hip and knee replacement on the National Joint Registry are good. My complication rate is low and our infection eradication rate is excellent for infected cases.
I undertake over 100 primary hip, over 100 primary knee replacements and over 50 revision operation every year acreoss my NHS and Private practice.

I have had a lifelong interest and involvement in sport and in particular rugby. In the past I was the team doctor at Richmond - a most enjoyable and rewarding experience. I ski as often as I can and try to go to the gym as much as time allows to keep fit. I enjoy travel and food, in particular in Spain. I spend quite a bit of my spare time cooking, which is generally very relaxing!Back to top
