I am a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon (adult and paediatric) with a specialist interest in Rhinology and Facial Plastic Surgery. I am appointed to St George's University Hospital and Epsom Hospital. I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer at St George’s Medical School, University of London. I completed my undergraduate medical training at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry. I was awarded the Drapers Company Prize for academic achievement and the Research Advisory Board Award for my intercalated Bachelors degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine.
I specialise in a range of ENT conditions in both adults and children. I have developed advanced skills in the care of complex nasal, sinus and facial pain disorders. This supra-specialist interest also includes rhinoplasty and facial plastic surgery. To further my skills I trained in specialist tertiary and quaternary rhinology centres including Guy’s and St Thomas’ and St George's hospitals. Further specialist training was undertaken through observerships at the world-renowned Hirslanden Klink, Zurich and the Clinica del Viso in Milan. I undertook a period of specialist training in advanced rhinology and facial plastic surgery in London.
I am well trained in the breadth of general adult and paediatric ENT, having completed higher surgical training in South London. I have trained in specialist units such as Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and the Evelina Children's Hospital, where I have developed a wealth of experience in paediatric ENT. I strive to deliver the highest standards of patient care. I regularly receive positive feedback from patients regarding my excellent communication and listening skills. This, in combination with my clinical acumen allows me to provide care of the very highest standard.
I also have a passion for teaching and training. During my basic surgical training I was an anatomy demonstrator to Oxford University Medical School. I am currently a member of the faculty on a number of surgical training courses and am a fully trained supervisor to surgical trainees. I am currently lead for junior doctors induction for the ENT department at St George's Hospital.
I have developed a strong interest in clinical research. I have published almost 30 peer-reviewed articles and have given 50 scientific presentations worldwide. I have been awarded prizes for my clinical research including the ‘Best Short Paper’ prize from the Royal Society of Medicine. In 2016 I was shortlisted for the Royal Society of Medicine national ‘Trainee of the Year’ award. To further my skills in research and to enable me to provide the very best in evidence based care to my patients, I completed a Masters course in Evidence Base Healthcare from University College London.
