Specialises in
I have been a Consultant Plastic Surgeon since 2003. My training is in General Plastic Surgery, but for over 10 years I have developed interests in weight loss body contouring. I am invited nationally (BAAPS faculty 2016) and internationally (SOS symposium 2017, Cologne, Germany) to lecture and demonstrate surgery in this field. I also have multiple publications in the field of weight loss contouring.
I am respected locally as providing a high level of care in skin cancer treatment.
In the field of weight loss body contouring I have developed new operations and improved on existing operations. I encourage enhanced recovery after surgery which lowers risk and complications after longer operations.
In addition I provide the full range of cosmetic surgery such as face lifts, breast augmentation, non-surgical enhancement with fillers and Botox®.
With regard to skin cancer - I treat Basal Cell and Squamous cell carcinoma as well as melanoma.
The number of skin cancer operations I have done will number in the thousands and cover all body sites. There is also the reconstruction to consider here - I use local flaps and skin grafts where necessary and have done many hundreds of these too. With body contouring procedures the number of operations taking all body sites into account, will be in the hundreds.
I chair the BAPRAS special interest group on weight loss body contouring and have done so since 2012. I chair the guidance committee responsible for updating the NICE recognised commissioning guidance on weight loss body contouring. I lead the Kingston Hospital Skin Cancer Service and have done so for over six years.
I regularly contribute to JPRAS and am also one of the reviewers for this journal.
