Professional profile

I graduated from Army Medical College in Pakistan. After obtaining my postgraduate qualification (MRCOG) from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London. I completed basic training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Wales, followed by a three-year Fellowship training programme in the sub-speciality of Uro-gynaecology. I am currently working as a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and a sub-specialist Uro-gynaecologist at Epsom and St. Helier NHS trust.

I specialise in conservative and surgical treatments of pelvic organ prolapse including treatments for recurrent prolapse; investigations and treatments of female urinary incontinence, offering a wide variety of minimally invasive as well as advanced surgical choices including non-mesh treatments; investigations and management of perineal trauma following childbirth; Investigations and management of menstrual disorders, pelvic pain offering minimally invasive, hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgical procedures; management of other female urology and gynaecological problems.

I carry out the following surgeries: Stress incontinence surgery including mid-urethral tape operations (TVTO, TVT), autologous fascial slings (for women who cannot or do not wish have tape operations), urethral bulking injections. Endoscopic bladder procedures including cystoscopy and botox injection of bladder. Pelvic organ prolapse surgery including vaginal hysterectomy, pelvic floor repairs, perineal reconstruction, anterior and posterior colporrhaphy, manchester repair, sacrospinous fixation, abdominal sacrocolpopexy (open and laparoscopic), colpocleisis. Other gynaecological surgeries including abdominal hysterectomy, laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy, laparoscopic management of pelvic pain and ovarian cysts including endometriosis treatment, hysteroscopy and other minor gynaecological procedures.

Apart from my extensive clinical and surgical experience, I have also had a strong academic interest. I have presented research work at National and International conferences. I have also published several papers in reputed medical Journals and am currently working towards obtaining a doctorate degree. I am passionate about providing excellent care to my patients and develop a good patient doctor relationship.

Being the daughter of a Surgeon and a Gynaecologist, I understand the challenges of balancing a career with home life, so I take every spare opportunity to spend time with my children and engage with them in the activities they enjoy.
