Professional profile

I have been a consultant urological surgeon since 2013 and am an expert in female and paediatric urology. My medical school training was at Guy's and St Thomas' Medical Schools and my urological training was within the London Deanery. I was awarded a PhD in prostate cancer molecular biology in 2010.

I specialise in the following areas: General urology: lower urinary tract symptoms (TURP/ laser HoLEP surgery), hydrocele, circumcision, urethral dilation. Female urology: urinary incontinence (TVT/TOT/autologous sling/bulking agents and bladder Botox), prolapse (pessaries/anterior and posterior repair/sacrospinous fixation/sacrocolpopexy), urinary tract infections, pelvic/bladder pain syndrome. Paediatric urology: foreskin issues (circumcision), bedwetting/enuresis, undescended testes (orchidopexy). Urological cancer: prostate cancer (MRI/prostate biopsy), bladder cancer (TURBT), testicular cancer (orchidectomy), incontinence post-cancer treatment. Neuro-urology: incontinence secondary to neurological conditions (multiple sclerosis/stroke/Parkinson's).

I am foundation training programme director and deputy urological cancer lead at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals. I am chair of the South London Regional Pelvic Floor Multi-Disciplinary Team.

I am a keen educationalist at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels, and have an honorary senior lecturer position at St George's, University of London.

I am Dr Toolbox champion at Epsom & St Helier Hospitals, promoting excellence in induction for new junior doctors. I have been invited speaker at national and international conferences - British Association of Urological Surgeons, Sri Lankan Association of Urological Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons New Fellows conference.
