I sub-specialise in hand and wrist and aesthetic surgery. I have held a substantive NHS post at St George’s Hospital since 2008 and I am currently the Lead Consultant for the Department of Plastic Surgery. My specialist skills focus on aesthetic, hand and wrist surgery. An interesting practice mix has evolved from comprehensive and targeted training over the years. I feel that delicate anatomy, meticulous operating and creativity of tissue reconstruction are the principles that couple both disciplines so well.

My cosmetic practice is focused on operative rejuvenation of the face, breast and body, but I also offer patients non-surgical treatments with dermal fillers and botulinum toxin injections. Skin surgery, soft tissue reconstruction and scar revisions are an integral part of my practice and I provide prompt service for removal of skin cancers and benign lumps in outpatient facilities.

Within my NHS job at St George’s Hospital, one of the largest trauma centres in the country, I regularly look after patients with complex hand and wrist problems, life and limb threatening injuries and infections. Due to my cross specialty training, I am versatile with techniques of microsurgery as well as wrist arthroscopy (keyhole surgery). I am keen and flexible to see and treat patients with acute trauma at short notice whenever possible, to avoid difficulties in management of late, missed injuries.

Training of medical students and junior colleagues, research, outcome analysis and their publications are some of many facets of my dynamic NHS and private practice.

Following graduation from the Medical School at Belgrade University in Serbia, I commenced my surgical training at busy general and plastic surgery units there. After moving to the UK in 1995, I completed the South London Plastic Surgery Specialist Rotation and focused further career on cosmetic and hand surgery. I was awarded a title of Master in Surgical Science for my postgraduate research thesis in the field of flexor tendon surgery from the University of London in 1999. I accomplished an aesthetic surgery fellowship at the McIndoe Surgical Centre in East Grinstead, orthopaedic wrist training at Wrightington Hospital in Wigan and a hand fellowship at Windsor Hand Clinic in 2008.
