Ms Liz Gwynne
Hand Therapist
BSc Occupational Therapy, BA Health & Psychology
Specialises in
I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2009 from London Southbank University and chose to specialise in hand therapy early on in my career. I have completed further training accredited by British Association of Hand Therapy (BAHT) and am currently studying towards my Master’s degree in this specialist area.
I have developed my skills practising hand therapy within the NHS and private sector working with referrals from trauma and orthopaedics, plastic surgery, rheumatology and neurology. I assess and treat patients with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Treatment can include splinting. scar management, oedema management, strengthening and rehabilitation programmes.
I understand how debilitating loss of hand function can be and the impact it can have on physical and emotional wellbeing. I aim to provide bespoke person centred treatment plans to increase function as well as independence in day to day tasks by also providing advice on home aids and adaptations.
