Dr Firoozi graduated from Guy's and St Thomas's Hospital Medical Schools in London in 1995 achieving multiple first class honours. He passed the MRCP examinations in 1998 and was awarded a British Heart Foundation Fellowship to conduct research in heart muscle diseases. He took up cardiology specialist training as a specialist registrar and subsequently senior registrar at St George's Hospital in London between 2002 and 2008. He is accredited as a specialist in the UK in both Cardiology and General Internal Medicine in 2008.
Dr Firoozi has an active interest in medical education and has organised and run a well established postgraduate teaching course in London for over 10 years.
Dr Firoozi is married and has two children aged 8 and 3. Most of Dr Firoozi's free time is spent with his family. His hobbies include sports (such as football, squash, cycling and motor racing), travelling, reading and the cinema.
