Dr Ajay Pankhania
Consultant Interventional Radiologist
MBChB MRCS FRCR
I have been a Consultant Radiologist since 2007 with my main area of practice being treatments using imaging guidance (interventional radiology). In my practice I offer and report diagnostic imaging – US, CT, MRI, and plain film X-ray. I provide a robust service based around safe patient-centred practices.
I take referrals for patients seeking minimal invasive procedures to treat the following conditions: Uterine artery embolisation for fibroid disease, Varicocele embolisation for symptomatic scrotal varicocele (varicose veins), Ovarian vein embolisation for pelvic congestion syndrome.
I am a clinical radiologist with a specialist practice in interventional techniques with my NHS practice at East Surrey Hospital. I also do USS lists at Oxted HC and Hawthorns GP Surgery, Redhill. I went to medical school in Manchester, where I had an interest in interventional radiology throughout my early training, with the last two years of training focusing on image-guided therapies.
COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service at Spire St Anthony's Hospital.

I have a busy work life but I make time for my family. I am married with a young baby son who keeps me pretty busy. When possible, I try to make time for my hobbies; reading, golf, and skiing,
