I then moved to my current post in Southampton in 2004 where I pursued a full time clinical post in interventional cardiology as well as an increasing commitment to contributing to and organising clinical research. I was promoted to |Professor of Interventional Cardiology by the University of Southampton in 2013 and currently run a large research programme alonside my clinical practice.

I have considerable experience in coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty and stenting. For the last 7 years I have been part of the team delivering keyhole aortic valve implantation (TAVI) in Southampton. I am an expert in image based assessment of cardiovascular risk.

As Professor of Interventional Cardiology at the University of Southampton I have a very active research programme and run teams looking at blood clotting, coronary artery physiology, cardiac imaging and computer models of cardiac interventions. I collaborate with researchers throughout the UK as well as in Europe and USA. I am Chief Investigator for a large multicentre Uk trial called RIPCORD 2 as well as for COMET.
