NanoKnife®- Irreversible electroporation (IRE) for treating prostate cancer

Spire Southampton Hospital offer NanoKnife®, a minimally invasive technique using needles to destroy prostate cancer cells. An electrical current passes through the needles which shrink the cells and provides a targeted approach.

The procedure is performed under general anaesthetic and takes around 45 minutes. You can usually go home the same day.

Aquablation® therapy for relieving benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) symptoms

Aquablation® therapy is a minimally invasive treatment for enlarged prostate (BPH). Aquablation® therapy combines robotic technology to guide a heat-free waterjet for precise tissue removal providing precise, consistent and long-term relief no matter how large your prostate is.

Aquablation® therapy carries a low risk of common side effects typically associated with alternative BPH treatments, such as loss of sexual function and incontinence.
