I graduated from University College Dublin in 1994 and completed a Master's degree in Physiology in 1996. I moved to Cambridge in 2001 and completed specialist training in adult urology in the Eastern Deanery prior to my appointment to fellowship training in Paediatric Urology at Southampton General Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.

I then joined the Department of Paediatric Urology at Southampton as a consultant in 2009 and was involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. I am part of the examination panel for the FRCSUrol, and regularly write articles for Urology News.

I was also awarded European Society of Paediatric Urology and British Urological Foundation travelling fellowships for visits to the Hopital Necker, Paris and Hopital Lenval, Nice, France.

I am currently the treasurer for the Journal of Pediatric Urology and became the British Association of Paediatric Urologists representative on the SAC in Urology in 2012.

Personal profile

Born in Dublin, I have worked in the UK for more than 10 years. I am married with five children. I am a keen runner and have completed a number of half marathons raising thousands for my favourite charities. I also coach at a local junior football club and enjoy watching rugby.
