I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Ophthalmic Surgeon at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust and I have been in this post since 2014.

My specialist interests are cataract surgery and medical retina conditions including injection treatment for macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusions (of which I have performed over 3000).

I perform routine and complex cataract surgery with a range of anaesthetic options and I teach cataract surgery to trainees in my post as an NHS Consultant. I also have extensive experience in seeing and managing general ophthalmology conditions including glaucoma, dry eyes and blepharitis.

I have performed over 4,000 cataract operations of varying complexity and over 3,000 intravitreal injections/implants for medical retina conditions including agerelated macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic eye disease and retinal vein occlusions.

I graduated from the University of Cambridge and started my career in eyes in 2003. I have over 16 years of experience in Ophthalmology. I undertook a year of advanced Fellowship training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London in 2013 obtaining in depth experience in Medical Retina conditions and cataract surgery.

I have presented at national and European conferences and I have published my original research in national and international journals. I am proud to have received a Clinical Excellence Award in 2017 and I have continually received excellent patient feedback throughout my career.
