Dr Ella Seccombe
Consultant Dermatologist and Paediatric Dermatologist
BSc MBBS MRCP (Dermatology)
"I know all of my patients will receive the highest standard of care at Spire Southampton Hospital. It is very friendly and well run."
I specialise in all aspects of general dermatology including eczema, acne, psoriasis, hair and nail disease, inflammatory skin disease as well as benign and malignant skin lesions and sun damage. I perform dermatological surgery for a variety of skin 'lumps and bumps' including skin cancers on the face and body. I also treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).
A particular interest of mine is paediatric dermatology, including the treatment of eczema, acne, strawberry birthmarks (haemangiomas) as well as other inflammatory rashes.
I initially trained in London before moving to the Wessex region, where I undertook Specialist Registrar training in Dermatology. I was appointed Consultant Dermatologist at University Hospitals Southampton NHS Trust in January 2020.
My NHS role includes general dermatology, skin cancer and skin surgery as well as my subspecialty interest, paediatric dermatology. I see approximately 450 children per year.
In addition to my clinical work, I am the Postgraduate Education lead for Dermatology in Southampton. I am also keenly involved with medical student, junior doctor and GP teaching and I am an Educational supervisor for current Dermatology Specialist Registrars.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Ella Seccombe at Spire include:

I enjoy spending time with my young family and puppy. When I get the chance, I like to go for a run, play tennis and spend time with friends. I'm also an avid reader of fiction and a member of a lively book club.
