BMBS FRCSorth (Eng) MMedEd
I have been a consultant hip and knee surgeon for 5 years and specialise in primary hip and knee replacements, complex hip surgery including custom prosthesis for developmental hip disease and deformity, and revision hip surgery covering all complications that can arise from hip replacements. I do my NHS practice in a tertiary referral centre for complex hip referrals and accept referrals from across the region as part of the established revision group for the east midlands.
I am a high volume primary arthroplasty surgeon offering minimally invasive anterior total hip replacements and robotic assisted total knee replacements which aim to improve outcomes and early recovery from joint replacement.
I specialise in hip arthroplasty including anterior minimally invasive surgery (AMIS) total hip replacement, bikini approach total hip replacement, ceramic on ceramic hip resurfacing, metal on metal hip resurfacing and revision total hip replacement.
I also specialise in total knee replacement and am trained in the use of the velys robot assisted total knee replacement technique. I provide early management of the degenerate knee with injections, including HA injections such as durolane, and knee arthroscopy for meniscal tears and degenerate disease.
I am a high volume hip and knee surgeon, performing >400 primary hips and knees a year alongside more than 50 hip revisions a year across my NHS and independent practice. I provide daycase hip and knee replacements with more than 80% of my patients spending less than 24 hours in hospital.
I am the only surgeon offering anterior minimally invasive (AMIS) bikini approach hip replacement surgery in the region, which enables hip replacement to be carried out through a minimal incision, without cutting any muscles, leading to faster early recovery, less pain, less bleeding and less risk of dislocation. I also provide cemented and cementless total knee replacement and am trained in the velys robotic assisted approach.
I am a regular faculty member of international conferences on primary and complex revision hip arthroplasty and provide mentorship, proctoring and education for anterior hip surgery around the UK.
I am a senior member of the regional revision network for hip and knee arthroplasty in the East Midlands.
