Jayne Boswell, Total Hip Replacement with Mr Ng
Jayne Boswell, a secretary from Huddersfield, had experienced problems with walking for over a year. Jayne had the symptoms for around 12 months and was developing a limp.
After already attending Methley Park previously, Jayne came to see Mr Ng for a consultation.
“My condition was explained to me in depth and course of action and options available”
“Having never had an operation before I was very nervous and needless to say daunted with the fact of going under anaesthetic.”
“The nursing staff were very welcoming and I was put at ease as soon as I got there. Mr Ng came to see me and offered his reassurance and support so all round I knew that the people were there to look after me and make it as stress free as they could.”
How did Jayne feel after the operation?
“After the operation I felt better than I expected. No anxiety just a little discomfort but given pain killers to help me through. Mr Ng came to see me and reassured me that everything went well.
“The staff continuously monitored me keeping on top of my pain at all time and offering reassurances that everything is going well.
“I had great support at home with my daughters and husband at hand to answer my every need.
“I knew that the recovery was now down to me and that I had to do exactly what Mr Ng told me. Rest is paramount and exercise was key.”
Jayne had 2 follow up appointments with Mr Ng
“I took this opportunity to ask and air all my concerns with recovery and what are chances of any complications which he answered with ease and that I should not have any concerns at all as after follow up x-rays shows everything as it should be. Mr Ng constantly asked if there was anything at all I still needed to ask but he had put my mind at rest and that all my frustrations and anxieties were not needed.”
Jayne explains that she is “so happy to have lost the limp", and is now back in her garden and now looking after the pigs, horses and dogs again.
“The best decision I made was to go ahead with the operation with Mr Ng and I would highly recommend careful consideration for a young person making that decision.
"I am young and I no longer walk like a crippled lady - I have a pain free hip that has no restrictions and could do everything that I could do before my problems and even more.
"Would I do it again? It’s a definite yes and I hope to have the privilege of Mr Ng looking after me.”
