Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mrs Kate Patterson at Spire include:
After graduating from The University of Huddersfield in 2007 with a BSc Honours Degree in Physiotherapy, I started my career in the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS trust as a Rotational Physiotherapist. I quickly developed my knowledge base over the next six years, gaining vast experience in the various specialities of physiotherapy including intensive care, respiratory, neurology, acute trauma/elective orthopaedics, musculoskeletal outpatients and gym rehabilitation. In 2010 I started at Spire Methley Park Hospital doing one musculoskeletal outpatient clinic per week to widen my experience further.
Whilst studying, I began working at the Chapel Allerton Hospital Orthopaedic Centre as a Technical Instructor, where over these two years, a keen interest in the post-operative management of joint replacements developed. I always knew this was where I would eventually like my career to progress and in February 2013 I became a permanent member of the physiotherapy team at Spire Methley Park Hospital as a Senior Physiotherapist.
My primary focus is the orthopaedic service on the ward where I work as part of the multidisciplinary team and provide physiotherapy treatment and advice to patients who are having day case surgery or joint replacements. Here I utilise all the skills I have amassed so far in my career to ensure that the best possible care is provided and achieve positive results in a timely manner. I get a great deal of satisfaction working with and encouraging patients to achieve their post-operative goals by providing rehabilitative plans in order to enhance their recovery. I have recently completed my IRMER for referrers X-ray qualification and continue to carry out regular course updates to further my knowledge and maintain my professional development.
