I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in foot and ankle surgery. I completed my trauma and orthopaedics training in Yorkshire. I have undertaken two highly specialised foot and ankle fellowships in Leeds and Wirral working with nationally recognised expert foot and ankle surgeons.

During my training I successfully obtained a Master of Science degree in biomechanical Engineering MSc (Eng) from the University of Leeds for my laboratory research in the field of cartilage tissue engineering - specifically on cartilage bone matrix decellularization. I also completed the fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Tr&Orth) in 2013 and was admitted on to the GMC Specialist Register in 2016.

Aside from foot and ankle experience, I have great experience in general trauma and lower limb arthroplasty surgery. Having done a hip fellowship for one year, I have the skills and experience in managing hip fractures, including total hip arthroplasty for suitable patients, as well as managing patients with lower limb periprosthetic fractures. Both groups of patients are growing in numbers in the last years.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and most of all being part of a team working with specialist nurses, orthotists, podiatrists and physiotherapists to provide my patients with the best care. I have taught on different courses, both to doctors and surgeons, as an ATLS instructor, on foot and ankle courses and the Leeds hip and knee arthroplasty course, as well as to allied healthcare professionals, including physiotherapist in hip arthroscopy course, and healthcare assistants and staff nurses on trauma orthopaedics training days.

I have a particular interest and passion for teaching, research and team working and continue to take part in teaching with close affiliation to the university, mentoring undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors.
