I manage patients with all gastrointestinal and liver problems including dyspepsia, reflux diseases, mal-absorption, coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, alcohol related liver disease and abnormal liver function. I have a special interest in bowel diseases and chronic diarrhoea. I am the only accredited consultant in Barnsley to undertake bowel cancer screening. I am the Yorkshire and Humber representative on the Clinical Service and Standards Committee of the British Society of Gastroenterology I have a great passion for medical education. I did a Masters Degree at Sheffield University that helped me to develop professionalism in the field. I am an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer and a Faculty on the regional colonoscopy training courses. I am also an Assistant Professor with St. Matthews University. I was until recently the Royal College of physician tutor. I believe in close collaboration with colleagues in general practice to ensure effective interface between primary and secondary care.
