In 2016 Lynne underwent breast surgery at Spire Manchester Hospital under the care of Consultant Breast Surgeon, Mr Lester Barr.
While talking about her experience and Lynne said, "I had been on a long journey until I found Mr Lester Barr, my breast surgeon. From the very first appointment with him, I knew it had been worth the wait. His calm demeanour, the time he took to listen to me, and his tolerance for the amount of questions I had were the deciding factors. My cancer nurse, Stella, was wonderful, we kept in touch via phone and text working out the surgery details - she is my Cancer Angel. She came up to my room and walked me down to the operating room because I was so terrified, just those little gestures make all the difference to patients. My biggest fear was the anaesthetic, but after meeting with Mr Huw Maddock on the day of my surgery, all of that disappeared - he was wonderful - I still remember the jokes he told me!"
