Spire Manchester Hospital helps young patient regain confidence through pinnaplasty

23 December 2025

Our daughter Holly had always felt self-conscious about her ears sticking out. As parents, we wanted her to feel confident and happy about her appearance, so we decided to explore options. Our GP explained that pinnaplasty surgery was no longer covered by the NHS, so we began looking for a private provider.

After researching and speaking to several providers, Spire Manchester stood out with excellent reviews and was one of the few hospitals offering this procedure for under 16s. When we contacted the hospital, one of the consultants we were given was Mr Jay Goswamy. After reading his reviews, we felt confident booking a consultation with him.

The process was quick and efficient, we made our enquiry at the end of March, our initial consultation was within two weeks, with a zoom call two weeks later to ensure surgery was the right decision for Holly, surgery was then booked for two weeks later. This meant Holly was able to fully recover before our summer holiday which was perfect.

The experience at Spire Manchester was outstanding. This hospital is lovely, the staff were friendly and helpful, and we were kept informed throughout. On the day of surgery, we had a lovely private room where we and Holly were made comfortable. My Goswamy visited us before and after the surgery, and we could see how much care he put into his work. He even reshaped Holly’s earlobes for the best possible results which meant a lot to us.

Now, post procedure, Holly is thriving. She wears her hair up with confidence, and her ears have healed perfectly. We couldn’t be happier with the results and are so grateful to Mr Goswamy and the Spire Manchester team for their care.
