Mr Banerjee treats Retinal vascular disease, Diabetic retinopathy and also performs Macular hole surgery and Vitreo retinal surgery under local anaesthetic.
I trained in ophthalmology in Aylesbury and Birmingham. Subsequently I performed a fellowship in vitreo retinal surgery for one year in Birmingham followed by a further fellowship in both medical and surgical retinal diseases in Toronto.
In my general ophthalmic practice I perform small incision cataract surgery (phakoemulsifcation) as well as treating glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. In my retinal clinic I manage patients with ARMD, macular hole, retinal detachment and complicated cataracts. 90% of my retinal surgery is performed under a local anaesthetic.
