I am a full time practising vascular specialist and deal with both arterial and venous disease and have pioneered the use of minimally invasive varicose vein surgery in Leicestershire.

I qualified in Medicine from the University of Birmingham and moved to Leicester to undertake research in the field of vascular surgery. I then became a clinical lecturer at the University of Leicester and completed my training in 2002 and am now part of a highly successful vascular unit based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary which is recognised both nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence.

I am recognised as specialist within my field and am referred patients with both arterial and venous disease from all over the Midlands region.

In any given month I will see over 150 patients per month in both the NHS and private sector.

As well as being a committed practising surgeon I am also a dedicated surgical trainer and currently supervises over forty surgical trainees in their chosen careers.

I am also involved with surgical training in Gondor, Ethopia.

Vascular surgery is a large part of my life and is a discipline that requires both physical and mental fitness. My wellbeing is maintained by spending as much time with my family as possible and also pursuing varied hobbies; these include cycling, mountaineering, tennis, membership of the RSC, men's welfare, golf, fly fishing and learning and teaching martial arts (which I do with my children).
