Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Christopher Kershaw at Spire include:
Osteoarthritis, children's orthopaedic conditions, hip revision surgery, foot and ankle surgery.
I completed my medical qualification in Sheffield before training as an orthopaedic surgeon in Oxford and Leicester. I undertook research in Oxford and a fellowship in paediatric orthopaedics at The Hospital for Sick Children at Great Ormond Street, London.
My main interests are in hip and foot surgery in children and adults, and I also undertake complex pelvic surgery and foot reconstruction across a wide age range. I have a particular interest in young adults with hip arthritis and uncemented hip replacement. I try to help patients make the right decisions on their treatment, by explaining the options available and their outcomes, based on the available evidence and my experience over 20 years as a consultant.

I enjoy getting out onto the hills. My wife and I - we climbed Mount Kenya when we first met as medical students - have started to climb all the Wainwright peaks in the Lake District starting with the highest and gradually working down.
I enjoy classical music and jazz (often listened to while operating), watching rugby and have taken up scuba-diving to prove to myself that I'm not too old to learn. I collect cartoons about surgeons and provide advice, DIY and finance to three grown-up children.Back to top
