I qualified in 1983 from Nottingham University Medical School. I trained in general medicine, diabetes and endocrinology in Leicester and Melbourne.
I have had over 60 papers in areas of diabetes and endocrinology published. I have had two books published covering management of diabetes in general practice and cardiovascular disease and diabetes and have written chapters for several books.
My recent research interests include renal disease and autonomic function in diabetes. I am also involved in national and international clinical trials in the treatment of diabetes.
