Dr Moorthy treats early rheumatoid arthritis, low back pain, sciatica, neck, shoulder and wrist pain, soft tissue rheumatological problems, paediatric rheumatological problems, bursae, cysts, carpal tunnel problems, chronic widespread pain, gout and osteoporosis.
After qualifying in 1989 I underwent a structured postgraduate training in general medicine for three years. I later went on to train in Rheumatology at Manchester, Wrightington, Northampton and Leicester. I also completed a part time postgraduate MSc course in Clinical Rheumatology at University of Manchester.
During my training I won a travelling fellowship from The British society for Rheumatology and a travel bursary from the European Rheumatology Society EULAR.
I have developed a special interest in ultrasound in Rheumatology and undergone training at the University of Ancona, Italy under Prof W Grssi.
I also treat children with arthritis.
