Professional profile

Availability at: Spire London East: Tuesday afternoon/evenings and Fridays afternoons Spire Hartswood: Monday evening, Wednesday afternoon/evening, Saturday morning

I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood, Essex and Spire London East Hospital in Redbridge, Essex, offering specialist private knee surgery and general orthopaedic surgery in our clean and comfortable private hospitals.

I have a particular interest in sports injuries and have treated sports men and women at various levels. I work closely with numerous sports physiotherapists, and also work with surgeons around the country in developing the exciting new field of arthroscopic knee surgery.

Within sports injuries, I have developed rapid rehabilitation programmes for traumatic osteochondial lesions requiring repair cartilage transplantation, anterior and posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction along with multi-ligament stabilisation.

I also offer the latest in knee replacement surgery, including the much publicised 'gender specific' knee replacement and the 'patient specific knee implant'.

I trained at the London Hospital Medical College, qualifying in 1989 and undertook my orthopaedic training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, followed by specialist knee and sports trauma fellowships in New Zealand and Australia.

I was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2000, and my NHS practice is at Queen's Hospital, Romford and King George Hospital, Goodmayes. I have been clinical director for the musculoskeletal service and am an active faculty member of knee surgery training courses and trainee appointment committees. I am available for consultations for children aged 5 and above.
