Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Jagmohan Chawla at Spire include:
Squint surgery, Oculoplastic surgery, Lacrimal disorders, Cataract surgery, Eyelid cancer and reconstruction
I am a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Spire Hartswood private hospital in Brentwood, Essex and Spire Roding Hospital in Redbridge, Essex, offering private eye surgery in their clean and comfortable private hospital.
My special interests include refractive phacoemulsification, oculoplastic surgery and refractive surgery. Refractive phacoemulsification is suitable for patients with cataracts and high refractive errors. It requires the use of multifocal lens implants and astigmatic keratotomy. One of the newer procedures that I offer is varifocal lens implants which can include the correction of astigmatism. This technique enables the majority of patients to achieve relative independence from glasses. I also manage complicated cataract patients using lens implant exchange and 'piggyback' lens implants. I also undertake oculoplastic procedures like blepharoplasty, ptosis, malpositions of lids, eyelid cancers with reconstruction, and tear duct obstruction using radio-frequency surgery techniques. Radio frequency surgery is also useful for the removal of warts, keratotic lesions, nevi, telengiectasia, skin tags, mucous membrane grafts, punctal occlusion and trichiasis with minimal scarring.
