I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood, offering private complex upper limb surgery in our clean and comfortable private hospital. I provide a fully comprehensive Shoulder and Elbow service for degenerate disease and sports injuries, promoting good medical practice. My approach to the patient is holistic and multidisciplinary, working closely with other skilled health professionals, in order to provide a caring and evidence-based treatment to my patients.
After graduating from the University of Athens Medical School in 2003, I completed my training as core surgical trainee and in 2007 started specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Athens Naval Hospital focusing in Orthopaedic Sports Injuries. In 2009 I obtained my MSc in 'Metabolic Bone Disorders' from University of Athens Medical School. I subsequently trained in London as a registrar at Whittington Hospital and Barnet and Chase Hospitals, acquiring experience and skills in the whole spectrum of Orthopaedics, obtaining the Fellow of European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (FEBOT) and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) diplomas.
At Athens’ Major Trauma Center (KAT) I trained in hand surgery and microsurgery and have completed two substantive Upper Limb Fellowships; in Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust focusing in shoulder arthroplasty and arthroscopies, and in Royal London Hospital focusing on Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist and Hand complex trauma as well as elective Upper Limb Surgery.
In 2016 I was appointed Orthopaedic Consultant and Upper Limb Specialist in Queens University Hospital. I now hold a substantive post as a Trauma and Orthopaedic Consultant in Basildon University Hospital, specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery, performing safely and successfully more than 1000 Upper Limb Elective and Trauma procedures.
