I am a General Surgeon who specialises in Endocrine Surgery and sees patients with thyroid, parathyroid and requiring adrenal surgery.
My clinical interests are primarily focussed on the management of diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands. I participate in the national endocrine surgery audit and key clinical outcomes of my surgical practice are available for access at the BAETS dendrite database.
I did my early medical training in India and higher surgical training and research in Sheffield. I then did a fellowship in Endocrine Surgery in King’s College Hospital, London before moving back to Sheffield.
My research involves investigation of medical devices for intra-operative use, epidemiology and diagnosis of thyroid cancer, reducing risk of hypoparathyroidism after thyroid surgery, and the practice of evidence based surgery.
I now work as a Consultant Endocrine Surgeon in Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and as Honorary Professor at the University of Sheffield. I am a member of the British Association of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeons (BAETS) and have been in the BAETS executive as an educational lead since 2017.
