Mr Jeff Garner

Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon

Specialises in

I am an experienced consultant surgeon with a specialisation in colon, rectum, and anal surgery, bringing over a decade of expertise to my practice.

In my NHS practice I have established a complex abdominal wall reconstruction service. This service is dedicated to the meticulous assessment, management and repair of complex, giant, or recurrent abdominal wall hernias. Additionally, I regularly undertake advanced laparoscopic surgery for resolving issues related to gallbladder, bowel, and hernias. I possess extensive proficiency in upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (gastroscopy) as well as lower gastrointestinal endoscopy (colonoscopy/flexible sigmoidoscopy).

With a distinguished career spanning more than 25 years in the Royal Army Medical Corps, I have proudly served in various challenging environments, including deployments to Northern Ireland, Kosovo, and Afghanistan.

My passion for trauma surgery remains resolute, and I actively contribute to the field as a dedicated educator. I am privileged to act as Editor-in-Chief of the renowned journal 'TRAUMA' and actively participate in teaching on various trauma surgery courses. My commitment to advancing the field is exemplified by my recent publication of a comprehensive textbook on complex abdominal wall reconstruction.

With my extensive experience and continuous pursuit of excellence, I am committed to providing exceptional care to each patient.
